Fun Find: 2023 Flower and Garden Festival

This week has felt a bit gloomy and depressing, so today I'm trying to lift my sour mood.  Thankfully, the 2023 Flower and Garden Festival started on Wednesday, and I'm hoping some bright cheerful flowers will brighten my spirits!

I thought today was the perfect opportunity for a Fun Find Friday, and I've got a bunch of different things to share about this year's colorful event!

Every year, my favorite part of the Flower and Garden Festival is seeing all of the Disney characters as topiaries.  Through the years, Disney has continued to push the boundaries when creating these.  They've gone from faceless figures to full-blown greenery recreations of their animated counterparts!  And each year, they make a few new designs to join the festival, like this Tiana topiary that is debuting this year!

I was SO excited when I found out that they also created four new designs of members of the Madrigal family from Encanto!  Now, you can see Mirabel, Luisa, Isabella, and Antonio at the entrance of Epcot.  And these topiaries are spectacular.  Here is a behind-the-scenes video showcasing these new additions!

Another tradition they keep continuing are the seasonal foods found throughout the World Showcase.  This is always one of my favorite things to do at the events.  Eliot is not a big foodie, but I like to try out a few items at each of the festivals we go to.  And "Frushi" and Violet Lemonade are my Flower and Garden Festival favorites!  Here are a few treats from the event this year!  It all looks so good!

Disney also continues to utilize "magic shot" additions throughout the park at their Photopass locations.  They have a bunch of fun things to take pictures with.  My favorites are the Tinker Bell wings and Orange Bird!  Although, the butterflies and Isabella are also fun and definitely fit the flower and garden theme!

The coolest Photopass location has to be the Tiny World Magic Shot.  (We didn't do this and I'm still kicking myself for it.)  It's a cool photo and they add a seasonal border!

Finally, we can't have a special event without some fun merchandise!  This year, the festival markets will be filled with a selection of items from four different collections: Orange Bird, Snow White, Figment, and Annual Passholder.  The Orange Bird design is very 70's groovy retro.  The Figment collection features a succulent and garden theme.  Snow White focuses on flowers and her forest friends.  And the Annual Passholder collection has exclusive items from all three.

And that's a quick overview of the 2023 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival.  I don't think Eliot and I will be able to make it down for the event this year, but I would love to see all of those topiaries in person!  Hopefully, we'll see them at some point!  °o°

Small Shop: Flower and Garden Festival Finds

I've been in such a springy mood the past few days!  It's definitely colder back home in Maine than it was in California, but the temperature isn't as bad as when we left!  The snow is mostly melted except for a few pockets in the woods or the shade.  The birds are chirping.  Yesterday, I saw 7 robins hopping around our backyard looking for food!

Our time in California definitely made me start daydreaming about green grass, flowers and everything in bloom.  Of course, Florida is also gorgeous this time of year so my thoughts have also wandered to the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot.  So today, I wanted to share some Flower and Garden Festival inspired items from small shops in another edition of my Small Shop Saturday posts!  Let's check them out!

Floral Spaceship Earth Shirt- First, I had to include this beautiful Spaceship Earth shirt from Spinning Wheel Design Co.  I love the colors in the floral pattern!

Fab Five Topiary Shirt- This shirt by Shop Magically Megan also caught my eye.  I'm a sucker for topiaries and I love how the characters outlines also match their flower pots.  (You might recall that I'm a fan of flower pots too!)

Frushi and Flowers Shirt- This is another shirt by Shop Magically Megan.  I love the "frushi" at the Flower and Garden Festival so this is perfect!

Figment Topiary Shirt- I also like this shirt by The Trendy Castle.  Eliot and I both love Figment and I thought the rainbow colors were a nice touch too!

Orange Bird and Spike the Bee Dress- Orange Bird is another favorite in our house, so I had to include this dress by Rainbow Rules.  It also has Spike the Bee on it!

Flower and Garden Festival Dress- This dress is also by Rainbow Rules.  I love the Mickey and Minnie Mouse topiary designs featured on it!

Flower and Garden Festival Men's Shirt- Want to match someone special?  Rainbow Rules has you covered!  They also make men's shirts in the same pattern!

Spaceship Earth Shirt- I love this simple shirt by Happily Ever Tees.  I actually have a tank top in this design from a few years ago!  I love all of the whimsical flowers!

Minnie Topiary Crossbody Bag- I'm a huge fan of this bag by Sew Minnie Style; I bought this last year and it's absolutely adorable and so soft!

Daisy Topiary Crossbody Bag- This year, Sew Minnie Style also made a Daisy version of the topiary crossbody!  She's so cute!

Mickey and Minnie Topiary Stud Earrings- If you'd like a simple nod to the festival, these earrings by Pineapple Pixie Dust Co. are perfect!  (They also match the dress!)

Mickey and Minnie Topiary Earrings- Or, if you want something a little more bold, these earrings from Mommin with the Mouse might be more your style!

Mickey Topiary Brooch- I've always loved this topiary brooch by Le Petit Mouse.

Flower and Garden Stretch Bracelets- These stretch bracelets by Say Like Yay will add a little bit of magic to everyday!  There are tons of them to choose from too!

Mickey Topiary Moues Ears- I can't write a Flower and Garden Festival product post without a shameless plug for our own ears from Happily Ever Hatter.  These topiary ears are one of my favorite designs and I've never seen anything else quite like them!

Mickey Floral Topiary Mouse Ears- Our Happily Ever Hatter topiary ears were so popular that I also made a version with roses on them.  I love how these turned out too!

Spaceship Earth Flower Crown- One final Happily Ever Hatter plug... these Spaceship Earth flower crown ears are customizable by color so they can match whatever you're wearing!  (In fact, they look like they'll go with that first shirt above... I might need to get that for myself to match these exact ears!)

Topiary Tiered Tray Decor- If you can't make it to the Flower and Garden Festival in person, these decorations by Made for You By RSM will bring the festival to you!

Mickey and Minnie Topiary Frames- If you're really ambitious, you can make your own topiaries at home using these frames by Topiaries By Elsie.  I've always wanted a Mickey and Minnie topiary... maybe we'll have to get some of these at some point!

Mickey Topiary Pen Holder- Finally, I've got to fit in a shameless plug for Eliot's and my Snowblade Creations shop.  This topiary pen holder is another great way to bring the festival home.  Plus, you don't have to water this topiary to keep it looking fresh!

And there you have it!  All of these items have got me daydreaming about enjoying the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot!  While it's not in the plans this year, I'm hoping that we'll go back next year!  Now, I've got all sorts of ideas for outfits to plan!  °o°

Please Note: Eliot and I are not affiliated with any of these shops (other than our own Happily Ever Hatter and Snowblade Creations Etsy shops) and we will not earn anything if you purchase something from this post (unless you buy an item from our shops).  I just wanted to spread a little bit of magical good will by sharing some stuff that I love from Etsy!  I know how much it means to small shops for their stuff to be shared.  All of these items are literally things that I picked off of my own Etsy favorites list or are items that I already own!

All of these photos belong to the shop in which I've shared them from.  If you link them from this post, please attach them to their corresponding Etsy shop!

Fun Find: Flower & Garden Festival Walkthrough Video

Happy Friday!  I hope you had a wonderful week!  If you haven't, I've got something that will brighten your day and your spirits!  I'm continuing my Flower and Garden Festival appreciation posts by sharing a fun video!  Yesterday, I showed you some of the topiaries we've seen; so today I wanted to give you a better feel for the festival.

I came across this fun video on Youtube and I really enjoyed it.  It's a walkthrough of Epcot during the 2021 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival.  I watched most of this a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it.  I thought it gave a wonderful overall feel of actually walking through and experiencing the festival and the park atmosphere.

Wasn't that wonderful?  I absolutely love all of the close ups of the topiaries.  Most videos on YouTube are quick walkthroughs were you get the atmosphere but miss all of the details that make Disney magical.  This video shows you the overall atmosphere of the park, but it doesn't skip all of the details and I really enjoyed it because of that!

I don't know about you, but this video definitely makes me think spring thoughts!!!  °o°

#tbt Flower & Garden Festival Topiaries

The 2022 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival officially kicked off a week ago at Walt Disney World.  But as you know, last week Eliot and I were busy playing at Disneyland.  However, I didn't want this occasion to pass without acknowledging it.

The Flower and Garden Festival is one of my favorite times to visit Epcot.  It's my 2nd favorite festival, after the Festival of the Arts!  The last time Eliot and I were at WDW during the Flower and Garden festival, it was back in April of 2018.  While it's only been four years, it feels like forever ago now.  I've been feeling a little bit nostalgic for it, so I thought that I'd write a few posts about the Flower and Garden Festival.  (Check back tomorrow and Saturday for a few more fun posts!)

My favorite part of the Flower and Garden Festival are the character topiaries.  I have been mesmerized by Disney's topiaries since I was a child.  I remember being in awe of the rotating Mickey and Minnie topiaries at the Transportation and Ticket Center.  (I have lots of photos of those somewhere.)  I always took pictures of the Mickey and Minnie topiaries at the Magic Kingdom.  Through the years, Disney's topiaries have become more abundant, easier to find, and the details have gotten insanely accurate!

Today, I thought I'd share some photos of my favorite topiaries that we've spotted during our visits to the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival!

Wedding Planning Trip- April 2012

This was a crazy busy trip since we had a bunch of appointments that week to plan our Disney wedding.  It was also super hot and humid the entire time we were there, so we weren't in the parks that much during the day.  I don't have any photos of the topiaries from my own camera, but I do have some from our Photopass package.  Of course, I have to start my tour out with my main mice: Mickey and Minnie!!!

I love this topiary of Aurora dancing with Prince Phillip.

We also found Bambi, Thumper and Flower.

Belle and Beast greeted visitors to the France Pavilion.

Cinderella and Prince Charming danced opposite Aurora and Phillip.

The main entrance was decorated with Sorcerer Mickey and a variety of characters from Disney's Fantasia.  I love this image of Spaceship Earth and the monorail!

Lady and Tramp greeted visitors over in Italy.

Peter Pan was chased by Captain Hook and Tick Tock.

Here's another view of Sorcerer Mickey from Fantasia.

I love this Tinker Bell topiary!

Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen were in Japan.

Finally, Woody and Buzz were in the American Pavilion!

Honeymoon Trip- March 2013

If the photos from our wedding planning trip were the most gorgeous, these ones are the most hideous.  Back in early 2013, I was still just taking photos for memories and not to have them look nice.  (These were taken less than 2 months before I started my blog!)  The photo angles in a few are awful, but some of these topiaries aren't shown today, so you get to see my terrible photos anyways!  Let's start with a good one!

Belle and Beast were in France again this year.

Cinderella and Prince Charming were still dancing.  I was really happy that they were near the entrance to where we had our desert party in the France Pavilion!

I really like this photo the I took of Lady and Tramp in Italy!

Here's a not so great photo of the Lion King topiaries at nighttime.

Lotso was hanging out in the American Pavilion.

Here's a photo of me posing with Cogsworth and Lumiere.  If you look closely, you can just make out Mrs. Potts and Chip in the background behind Lumiere.

The entrance to the World Showcase had a large Monsters University display.

My favorite part was the gate with Mike and Sulley!  I wish I'd gotten a better photo!

Eliot and I were also excited to see Phineas and Ferb; we loved that show!  If you look closely, you can see Agent P (aka Perry the Platypus) peaking out behind the fence!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were outside of Germany.

Tinker Bell was joined by her sister Periwinkle near the butterflies.

This is a terrible angle of the Winnie the Pooh characters in the United Kingdom.  You can't really see Pooh well, but Eeyore, Piglet, Rabbit and Tigger are all there!

Finally, Woody was hanging out at the American Pavilion again this year!

April Vacation- April 2018

This most recent trip, Epcot had a ton of topiaries on display.  In fact, a lot of the countries had some that weren't Disney characters.  Eliot and I saw so many this trip!

This was the first festival that Eliot and I saw Anna and Elsa topiaries in Norway.

Norway had a little troll in their pavilion as well.

I believe Bambi, Thumper and Flower were located in Canada this year.

As usual, Belle and the Beast anchored the France Pavilion.

The entrance to the World Showcase had a beautiful display of butterfly topiaries!

Captain Hook and Peter Pan were located in the United Kingdom.

China had a few different topiaries.  First, I saw a giant dragon.

The China Pavilion also had these cute panda topiaries.

Aren't they all super cute?!?!?

Daisy was located with Chip and Dale and some bright flowers.

Here's a close up of the Chip topiary...

And here's a closer view of Dale!

Donald and his nephews were all located together in Future World.

This year, they added Cruz Ramirez to the collection.

She was located near Test Track with Lightning McQueen.

Eliot and I also took this opportunity to take photos with our new Topiary Mouse Ears and the Lightning McQueen topiary!  I really love how these ears turned out!

We also had to take a few photos with our donkeys and the Eeyore topiary.

The Tigger topiary was also located nearby.

This year, I finally got a good photo of the Winnie the Pooh topiary with his balloon.

I also got a better photo of Rabbit with his carrots.

The Figment topiary is always a favorite of ours!

I also love how Disney lights the topiaries up at nighttime!  They're so magical.

Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy were all at the main entrance of Epcot.

Rafiki was holding Simba along with two lions.

Here's a better view of Rafiki lifting Simba.

Timon and Pumbaa were located nearby.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were hanging out in Germany again.

Stitch was outside of the Electric Umbrella quick service restaurant in Future World.

Finally, Tinker Bell was surrounded by flowers in the United Kingdom Pavilion.

And there you have it!  It's amazing to see how much the topiaries have changed through the years and how much more detailed they are today!

I hope you enjoyed my photo tour of the topiaries Eliot and I have seen at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival.  There are so many new ones that I've spotted in photos online since we went in 2018.  I'm dying to go back to visit during the festival so we can see the new ones in person!  Which is your favorite topiary?  °o°
