Spaceship Earth Sunday meets Monorail Monday. Today I'm sharing about a few new products that Eliot and I just released on Snowblade Creations over the weekend!
It's been two weeks since we first debuted our two Spaceship Earth Desk Sets. We've gotten rave reviews from lots of people and Eliot and I have been absolutely floored by the desk set sales for his Snowblade Creations shop as well.
This weekend, we added two Spaceship Earth Monorail Business Card Holders to the shop. I've had this idea in mind since Eliot first made the Spaceship Earth card holder designs a few months ago. These have gone through a few drafts, but Eliot and I are really happy with the final result. The monorail on front really pops against the silver!
We've made a monorail option for both the Mickey and round versions of the business card holder design. They'll work perfectly with the rest of our Spaceship Earth desk set products. The best part is that you can choose your monorail stripe color! Like our Monorail Ears for Happily Ever Hatter, you can also personalize your design with all 14 colors of the Walt Disney World monorail system.
This is still just the beginning! We've got a few more desk sets that will debuting in a the upcoming weeks. (Eliot's currently up to his elbows printing samples and I'm crazy busy setting up new listings!) We'll be rolling these out in Snowblade Creations over the next few weeks. Plus, there will be many more items coming this summer! Keep your eyes peeled on here and I'll let you know when they become available! °o°

Magical Mickey Mail
We've gotten a lot of magical Mickey mail over the past two weeks! I don't know about you, but I love to receive Disney mail! It brings a little bit of the magic home!
During March Madness, Disney ran a "March Magic" competition pitting favorite Disney Rides and attractions against each other. (You can read more about that here.) This year, they also made t-shirts for each "team". Since you can't buy merchandise for a lot of these rides, we were all over this. His parents bought each family member his or her favorite ride. Eliot and I also got a few of our favorites knowing we might not be able to find merchandise for them again. The shirts were printed to order, and they just arrived earlier this week! Eliot and I both got Main Street Electricity, World of Color Spectrum, and the Fantasmic Dragons. Eliot also grabbed the Briar Patch Splash design. I, on the other hand, opted for one of my favorites- the Philharmagic Maestros!
One of the perks of working really hard with my Happily Ever Hatter business is that I'm able to occasionally treat myself to handmade creations from other Etsy shops. I love supporting other sellers. On Tuesday, I received the bows I'd bought from Mad Hatter Bows. I fell in love with her Rapunzel and Anna Coronation bows. The details are fantastic. They're really cute and I can't wait to wear them!
Last week, I received my order from MigotoChou. I've been admiring Amanda's monorail bracelet for a long time. She makes the cutest beaded jewelry! She had a beautiful rainbow Mickey Balloon necklace that was calling my name. I also asked Amanda to create a custom order for a Mickey balloon purse charm. It was like Christmas when the package arrived! I love all of my new accessories! The Mickey Balloon necklace is absolutely stunning. Pictures don't do it justice.
Yesterday, Eliot was home to receive a package that had to be signed for. I can't tell you what it is just yet, but it has to do with the joint business idea we're working on! I'm happy to report that we're ahead of the time schedule we were anticipating! (Yay!!!) Therefore, I'll be able to share a lot more soon! Here's one more hint!
Finally, I've saved the best for last! On Wednesday, I received a package I wasn't expecting. Upon further investigation, I discovered it was from a lady named Joan who is a My Disney Life blog follower! I've never met Joan, but she comments on my blog posts occasionally. She got our mailing address when she ordered from Eliot's Snowblade Creations shop. Joan sent me a beautiful card telling me how much she loves to read my blog and how it brings her joy. It's an amazing feeling to know my blog brings joy to others. She also sent me a Disney recipe for the Liberty Tree Tavern Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. (I'll have to try it out this summer! It looks really good!)
But that wasn't it. I removed the tissue paper to find one more treasure inside of the box. Before I finished opening it my eyes started to water. Joan sent me this stunning castle sign with one of my all time favorite Walt Disney quotes. (She'd never know, but I've been admiring the Hallmark Disney signs for a while now!) I'm incredibly touched by her kindness. Her gift left me speechless with happy tears. Thank you so much for your generous gift Joan. I sincerely appreciate it and I'll treasure it always. I'm planning to put it on my desk with a few of my other special Disney keepsakes. It will always bring a smile to my face whenever I look at it. I'm so grateful for how Disney brings people together. Further proof that Disney magic is real. °o°

WDW Honeymoon Recap- 3/24/13
Sunday the 24th, we started day two of our honeymoon at Epcot.
We headed over to The Living Seas where we had our wedding reception. I love going back and visiting the locations where we had our wedding events. It brings back all of the great memories from our wedding day!
We rode on the Nemo ride and then went up to the aquarium and reminisced. On the way out, we made sure to acknowledge the backstage door that we actually got to pass through on our private tour. We also walked by the location where we "walked on stage" at our reception from the parking lot behind Living Seas.
Next, Eliot and I decided to head towards the World Showcase so we could see the topiaries at the Flower and Garden Festival. We didn't make it very far before we saw these adorable baby ducks and their mom. A little girl was feeding them Cheerios and the babies were having a hard time jumping over the concrete curb of the landscaping. They were adorable. We stopped for about 10 minutes to watch all of the babies as they finally made it over the barrier, one by one. A large crowd was around us by the time all 10 babies made it over.
We finally arrived at the World Showcase and made our way around the loop. We stopped in the United Kingdom to take pictures with the Winnie the Pooh topiaries. Of course we had to get a picture of our favorites. Here's Eeyore and Piglet!
And here's me with Tigger!
On our journey around the World Showcase, we stopped at the Terrace des Fleurs in France. We had our VIP IllumiNations Dessert Party there after our wedding reception. It was the perfect way to end our wedding day.
When we got to the center of France, I got what I'd been waiting for... my crêpe!!! I'd been waiting to get one for a few trips. We always ran out of time. Since it was our honeymoon, I decided it was ok to indulge a little. (A little... ha! Stay tuned...)
We continued meandering through the countries and stopped to take more pictures in Germany at the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs topiaries. My brother loves the Dwarfs so I had to get a picture for him!
Then we discovered one of the hidden Easter eggs (from the limited time magic egg hunt) in a window box in Germany! If we'd been smart, we would have signed up for the egg hunt! It looked like it was a lot of fun!
On our journey, we discovered that my favorite teddy bear was at his greeting location! We stopped to get our pictures taken with Duffy! Yay!
We continued our walk back to Future World and found the Cars topiaries along the way. We grabbed a quick picture of Lightning McQueen for Eliot's sister Sara.
And we couldn't forget a picture of Tow Mater for my best friend Katie!
Then, we made our way back towards the front of the park. The sky was starting to cloud up with that ominous feeling before a downpour. Luckily, we made it inside the Art of Disney store before we got completely soaked. It poured. Like torrential rainstorm poured. There were massive storm warnings all over Disney World.
Eventually, the rain let up a little. It didn't stop completely but it wasn't going to soak us at that point. Thankfully, we had our rain gear prepared just in case. We decided to take a break to ride the Monorail from Epcot over to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). It was pretty relaxing and we ended up riding back and forth between Epcot and the TTC a few times. At one point, we even had the entire Monorail car to ourselves!
We finally decided to go into the Magic Kingdom for the afternoon. The first thing we saw was Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny! The line wasn't that long and I ran over to get in it. Eliot knew that I was dying to get a picture with them.
Success! And then I even got a yummy Peep candy afterwards!
We walked around and ended up at the Starlight Cafe for a snack. I got a chocolate cake. Yum! (Remember I mentioned indulging "a little" since it was our honeymoon?) Next, we walked around Tomorrowland and went on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. The park was less busy after all of the rain so the lines were short.
We made it over to the Journey of the Little Mermaid ride and the line wasn't that long! Yay! I loved it the design of the queue. There were even little sea shells crushed into the concrete! And there were (fake) starfish all over the rocks too. The waterfall and the stonework was absolutely beautiful.
Eliot had been on the ride at California Adventure, but it was all completely new to me. I loved going "under" the sea and the projections on the ceiling. I loved the Under the Sea scene. There was so much going on it was hard to take it all in. The Kiss the Girl scene was beautiful. I loved passing under the vines. The whole ride was like you were really there inside of the movie!
We finished honeymoon day number two by watching the Electrical Parade. We actually got front row seats right at the beginning of the parade right outside of the Emporium! We enjoyed watching the floats come from backstage.
After the parade ended, we followed the crowd and went back to Pop Century so we could get up early for day number three! °o°

The Many Adventures of Eeyore
Well, this week has been an interesting one. Mr. My Disney Life has been having a lot of pain in his teeth and we found out today that he needs to have a root canal early next week. He stayed home from work today after he got back from the doctor's office. Now that he's got some antibiotics in him, he's finally sleeping peacefully after a sleepless night.
He got to check out Cars Land and the Radiator Springs Racers ride... although I'm not quite sure if he technically reached the height requirement! Ha ha.
Finally, Eeyore ended the second day with World of Color.
You'll notice that he's curled up on the bed with a furry friend. You might not be able to tell from this angle, but that's Eeyore. Eeyore has been a friend of Eliot's for a long time, as long as I've known him anyways. Everyone has a teddy bear or stuffed animal that's special to them right? Well, Eliot's friend is Eeyore. And Eeyore goes everywhere with us. He's basically like a mascot.
Now, I know what you're thinking. Some of you might think that it's weird to still have a plush that you bring around with you when you're an adult. I have my own plush dog named Corky. He's one of those larger Ty beanie plush. I stopped bringing stuffed animals with me probably in middle school. (You know, when you're "too cool" for that stuff.) Then high school happened. My sophomore year, three girls in our high school died in car accidents. It was the first time that I ever had to deal with some thing like that, and I couldn't sleep for awhile. So after many restless nights, I started to curl up with Corky next to me, and after a few weeks, it got easier. I guess now I'm superstitious, because Corky travels everywhere with me. He's been to Disney World, Disneyland, France, Italy, Greece, Las Vegas. He's a well traveled plush. He usually hangs out in my suitcase, but he's still there. And when we're home, he hangs out on the dresser near our bed. I don't sleep with him anymore, but having him nearby makes me feel better. (Plus, I'm half convinced that the world might just end if I forget him...)
This is Corky in my Harry Potter tie while in Las Vegas in 2006. |
Anyways... now that you know the backstory, I can tell you the real reason for this post! As most of you know, Eliot went to California at the beginning of September to visit his family. Of course, while he was there, they went to Disneyland. Eliot brought Eeyore with him, so he and his sister Elissa decided to bring Eeyore to Disneyland. They took some photos of him and it looks like he had a good time. In fact, now the plush donkey has seen more of Disneyland than I have! Ha!
I promised Elissa that I would document Eeyore's travels through Disneyland, California Adventure and Sea World. And we're decided to dub it the Many Adventures of Eeyore. So here we go!

Eliot sent me a text during his layover that I posted on my blog's Facebook page. During his first flight, the plane was basically empty so Eeyore had his own seat!
Once they got to California, Eeyore had to prepare for a day of theme park fun, so he borrowed Elissa's sunglasses since the sun was so bright!

Eeyore had a picture taken right outside the entrance since it was his first time there.

Of course, the trip wouldn't be complete without a photo with Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Eeyore also got to try his first Mickey Mouse pretzel. Everything tastes better when it's Mickey shaped!

Eeyore also got front row seats to watch Mickey's Soundsational Parade. (It's kind of funny to see the parade from his point of view. All of the floats look so big! I makes me wonder if that's how the parades looked to me when I was a kid!)

Speaking of shows, Eeyore also got to see Mickey and the Magical Map! I'm super jealous!

No day at the theme park is complete without the rides! Eeyore got to go on a bunch of them. Here he is enjoying a few of them. He went on: Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters.

I think the ride Eeyore really wanted to go on was The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. He also got his picture taken with a few of the characters afterwards. Big Eeyore wasn't taking pictures that day, but he did get some with Tigger.

A few of the ride and character pictures are on the PhotoPass and Elissa doesn't have them yet. But I've been told that Eeyore also went on Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean.
To ride around between Disneyland and Downtown Disney, Eeyore got to go on the Monorail.

Finally, after a busy day, Eeyore watched Fantasmic!

Eeyore also got to enjoy a second day of Disney fun at California Adventure.

He went on Mickey's Fun Wheel down at Paradise Pier.

The last day, Eeyore got to enjoy Sea World. And although it's not a Disney park, I had to share the pictures because they're pretty cute.

Eeyore got to watch the whale, dolphin and sea lion shows at Sea World. He made sure to stay away from the splash zone.

He also got to watch and then take a picture with the Beluga whales.

Before Eliot and Eeyore had to fly back home, they went to the movie theater to see Planes.

It looks like Eeyore had quite the adventure! I haven't seen Cars Land, the new California Adventure park entrance, Mickey's Soundsational Parade, Mickey and the Magical Map or the World of Color! Eeyore's a better Disney fan that I am in the Disneyland category!
On another note, this is a fun way to document a trip if you're looking to do something completely different on your next vacation. And it's not as crazy as it sounds. At one of my past jobs, we had a small gnome figure that everyone took on their vacations so the office has pictures of him all over the world. (I took him with me to Italy and Greece too.)

If you don't want to bring a plush, you could do it with a small figure, a beanie baby, or even a popsicle stick. (Remember Stick Stickly from Nickelodeon?) It's just a fun way to get different pictures at the park. It might even be a great way to get your kids willing to take more photos if they're not big fans of it! Or you could make it into a game or fun scavenger hunt! °o°
Note: No plush donkeys were harmed in the making of this blog post.
Another Note: Eeyore was throughly sprayed in Lysol upon his return to our house after sitting on every possible surface at the parks. He now smells citrus fresh.
