Retiring My Calendars

Happy February!  We're already one month into 2021 and I have a feeling this year is going to keep rushing by.  Eliot and I have been keeping busy this winter.  I'm hoping to make a lot of headway on the house while we're stuck inside.  It's been really cold the past week and we're going to have a huge snowstorm today and tomorrow.  It makes sense to get projects done now so we can enjoy the spring and summer outside!

I'm excited to begin another month with another fresh start.  The first day of the month is usually be posting my free printable monthly calendar.  Unfortunately, last year I wasn't able to make and post them as I lost the laptop that I'd created them on.  Since then I've been struggling to figure out how to fix my calendar conundrum.  And I've tried... but at this point, I've pretty much run out of options.

Eliot thought he had a copy of the software that I could use to fix the design using his laptop, but he can't find it.  We've been going through a lot of stuff that we've had packed away since we moved into our house, but he still hasn't come across it.

My last ditch effort was attempting to digitally copy and paste a calendar together using the ones that I've made in the past.  That was a tragic attempt.  I thought I was going to be ok since I was finding most of the templates I needed, but then I wasn't able to get my copy and pasting idea to work.  Without my software, I'm like a fish out of water.

Thus, I am retiring my printable calendars for the foreseeable future.

I absolutely hate disappointing people, but I need to let this go for now in order to stop disappointing myself.  I will be updating the email on my blog to reflect that I'm no longer offering the calendars.  I haven't opened my email up in months... and I'm still ashamed to admit that.  For my own mental health, I've just avoided it.  This will be better.  I feel good about having an automated email that reflects the current status of them.  Plus, it will give people looking for my calendars closure.

If something changes, you'll be the first to know.  I do plan on making my calendars again... eventually.  One of the businesses Eliot and I are pursuing will require me to have the software I use to make them.  First, we need to get some things lined up in order to assure we will be able to afford it.  Some software is pricy, so we have to make sure we'll get back our investment in it.  I'm not going to put a time limit on getting the software or making the calendars.  But, I'm confident it will happen at some point.

Once I'm able to make the calendars, you can bet that I'll be making calendars for 2022, 2023, 2024 and probably 2025 while I'm at it.  It's so much easier to have them already made ahead of time.  And who knows, maybe I'll be able to make them bigger and better than ever when they do finally make their return here on my blog!  °o°

2021 Calendars... Hopefully

The new year is only 10 days away.  As the 2020 year is drawing to a close, I find myself looking forward to 2021 more each day.  (Aren't we all?)  What I'm not looking forward to, is that I'm still struggling to figure out how to fix my calendar conundrum.

Honestly, I haven't so much as opened my blog email in months.  I'm ashamed to even admit that, but it's the truth.  For all I know, there could be important things in there, but it's taken a back seat.  I'm sure it's filled with email requests for my free printable 2021 calendars.  I haven't opened my email because I don't want to disappoint everyone.  I still don't have a solution to make the calendars... and I'm running out of time.

At this point, my only idea is to attempt to digitally copy and paste a calendar together using the ones that I've made in the past.  That will require tracking down each month by which day of the week that month starts on and then checking how many days are in that month.  (For example, I have a note started that tells me January 2021 starts on a Friday and has 31 days.)  That will probably take me hours and be a giant pain in the butt.  Still, with having calendars from 2013 to 2019, it might be possible.  However, I was really trying to make that my last resort since it's not going to be very pleasant.

Eliot thinks he might have one more way to attempt to get into the actual software to fix the design... so I have one last tiny shred of hope.  If it works, you can bet that I'll be making calendars for 2021, 2022 and probably 2023 while I'm at it.  Then, I know that I'll be all set for a while!  That would be such a wonderful feeling!

I guess what I'm saying is... please know that I'm working on it.  If you've emailed me and I've ignored you for months, I'm sincerely sorry.  I just haven't been able to handle that on top of everything else 2020 has dropped in my lap.  Hopefully, Eliot and I will find a way and we can start 2021 off on a happy note- with printable calendars!!!  °o°

2020 Calendar Update

Well guys, it's high time that I admit defeat.  After months of trying to figure out what to do about my calendar conundrum, I've run out of ideas.  It's already more than halfway through February and at this point... I've decided to wave the white flag.

For those of you who hadn't heard, the short story is that the laptop I use to make the calendars on crashed last year.  I now have a new laptop, but the software I need is installed on my college laptop.  I don't have the software for my new laptop and right at the moment, we're not in the financial position to get it.  I've been left with no way to edit the calendars to the correct dates, months and holidays.

I'm incredibly disappointed that I won't be able to share my free printable Mickey and Minnie calendars this year.  Sharing them with all of you has brought me so much joy the past 6 years!  I love to see how you use them, or hearing about how you planned to use them to surprise your children with a Disney trip!

Fortunately, I've done some research and I found another alternative for you to use for the rest of 2020.  Disney actually makes a free printable calendar themselves.  You can find the Disney Family 2020 Printable Calendar at that link.  I thought these were really cute!  They have a different theme for each month.  Here are the movies that correspond with each month:

January-  101 Dalmatians
February- Princess and the Frog
March- A Bug's Life
April- Alice in Wonderland
May- Up
June- The Little Mermaid
July- Hercules
August- Mickey and Minnie
September- Ratatouille
October- Monsters University
November- Incredibles
December- Lady and the Tramp

Disney Family has included the major US holidays on the calendar.  They also have fun random holidays like Popcorn Day, National Pizza Day, National Pretzel Day and Ice Cream Day.  (Clearly, I'm all about days that celebrate food...)  They have included the release dates of their upcoming movies as well.

But, the absolute best part (at least in my opinion), is that they've also included a few cool Disney milestones!  There are a few dates marked by theme park ride openings, anniversaries of movie releases, and Disney characters birthdays!  I had a lot of fun hunting for those.  These different milestones would also be fun to celebrate!

I hope you enjoy these calendars and that they are a good alternative for 2020.

Now, I'm looking ahead at trying to figure out how to get my calendars put together for 2021!  I'm hoping that they'll be back and better than ever because there's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day.  °o°

December 2019 Calendar

Hello December!!!  What better way to start December and the holiday countdown than by spending it at my favorite place?!?!  Today, Eliot and I are wrapping up the last day of our Thanksgiving trip to Walt Disney World with his family.  Then, after a few days home in Maine, we'll be back to our favorite place later on this week to kick-off our back-to-back Very Merrytime Disney Cruises and WDW trip with my family!  Between now and Christmas, we're going to be away more than we'll be home which means this month is going to fly-by!!!!  Thankfully, I have my trusty Mickey and Minnie calendars to keep me organized!  And they can help keep your holiday schedule organized too!

I'm so humbled and honored to continue the tradition of posting my free printable calendars for other Disney fans to enjoy.  This is my 5th year!!!  I started making these back when I started my blog in 2014.  I first designed them as a way to track Eliot's and my RunDisney training and it's come so far!  I was so happy with how they turned out that I had to share them with everyone else.  To date, my printable calendars have been used for Disney trip countdowns, Disney themed classrooms, training calendars for runDisney events and to surprise kids with a Disney vacation!

November 2019 Calendar

Happy November!  (I can't believe it's already November.  Where on earth did October go?!?)  I was finally starting to feel like I was getting back into a rhythm of blogging regularly and then things got crazy again.  Anyways... Eliot and I have a lot to look forward to this month!  We're busy working on new Christmas mouse ear designs for Happily Ever Hatter.  We're celebrating Thanksgiving early with my family.  My birthday is in a few weeks!  And finally, Eliot and I will be going to Walt Disney World with his family for Thanksgiving!  What better way to start planning for the holiday hustle then with my free Mickey and Minnie calendars?!?!

October 2019 Calendar

It's fall y'all!  Happy October!  I am very excited about the changing seasons.  The days have been cooler here in Maine.  The nights are especially cool at this point.  The leaves are changing into bright beautiful colors.  From now until Christmas is my favorite time of the year.  Of course, this also means it's time for more free calendars!

Calendar Conundrum

Well guys... we've run into a bit of a conundrum.  For the first time since I've started my blog, I'm not sure what to do about my free calendars for 2020.

My old college laptop has finally neared the end of it's time.  It's over 13 years old, so it's done me well.  The last time I tried, it still will turn on, but I can't get the mouse track pad to work.  The mouse doesn't even show up on the screen.  I'm a bit at a loss... all of the software that I use to make the calendars is on that laptop.

I've known that my laptop was starting to have trouble so I made the 2019 calendars the same time I made the 2018 calendars just to be safe.  Now that we're nearing the end of 2019, I'm starting to think ahead and I'm unsure what to do.

It's a pretty significant commitment to replace the design software, and I'm not ready to make that monetary commitment.  I already spent a lot of money a year ago when I purchased a brand new MacBook Pro as well as an iPad Pro for our businesses.  I'm planning on at least getting both InDesign and Illustrator down the line, but it's not in the cards right at the moment.

I might try to see if I can get my laptop to work with a USB mouse, but I know it didn't work for Eliot's when I tried that.  Maybe it will work for a different mouse.  I don't know... I guess we'll see.  Eliot thinks he might have a temporary solution that will at least get the calendars completed, so I'm hopeful that will work out.  Otherwise, it'll take a lot of copy/pasting to get them done and I really don't have time for that... blah!

Anyways... I just wanted to give you all an update!  This is the time of year when I usually get a lot of requests for calendars with the school year starting and with people looking ahead to the next year.  I'm trying my best to get them ready for 2020, but you'll just have to bear with me!  I really am doing my best!!!  °o°

September 2019 Calendar

Happy September Everyone!  I love September and it's traditionally been a happy month for Eliot and me.  This month, we are celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary and the 4 year anniversary of buying our house.  I'm heading to Walt Disney World and aboard the Disney Dream for my travel agent conference.  The weather is starting to cool off a bit.  It's not as humid and the nights have been cool here in Maine.  I have to admit, I'm ready for fall, pumpkins and the leaves changing.  It's been a wonderful summer, but it's time to transition.  Of course, it's also time for another free calendar!

August 2019 Calendar

Happy August Friends!  The dog days of summer have arrived here in Maine.  We've had multiple 90+ degree days over the past few weeks.  In fact, the past three days, Eliot and I have left the air conditioners running continuously.  Even when it cools off at night and the temperatures dip into the 60's or 70's, it's still not enough to keep the house cool.  I definitely don't want to wish the rest of summer away, but I'm looking forward to cooler nights and less mosquitoes.  But, there's still a lot of summer fun to be had this month!  I better get to planning using my August calendars!

July 2019 Calendar

Hi friends!  I'm taking a quick break from my Nashville trip recap to make sure that I get my calendars posted on the first of the month!  I can't believe it's already July.  The year is officially halfway over.  Eliot and I have done so much traveling so far this year; I barely feel like we've been home!  Thus, I've been working on a lot of stuff around the house the past few days.  Hopefully, I can get working on my 2019 Goals since I now have half the time to finish them.  (Yikes!)  Anyways... here are my free calendars!!!

June 2019 Calendar

Happy June everyone!!!  Time is flying by... we're almost halfway through 2019!!!  It definitely feels like June here in Maine.  Eliot and I finally had to put our air conditioning unit in as the fan in our bedroom wasn't quite cutting it.  The flowers are in bloom.  The trees are all green again.  The grass is growing at lightning speed and we've even had a few thunder and lightning storms already.  I'm ready to go outside and enjoy the nice weather.  Of course, the start of another month means it's also time for my calendars!

May 2019 Calendar

"It's gonna be May!!!"  (Ok, so it is May now.  I just couldn't contain my inner boy band fangirl.)  Hello May!  I am so ready for you!!!  We had a few nice days in April, but May is really when Maine turns the corner.  I've seen a few beautiful pink trees in bloom, but that's about it.  I'm so ready for green grass, flowers, and green trees again!  Of course, the start of another month means another new calendar...

Happy April Friends!!!  We're already through 1/4 of the year.  It's flying right by for me, but I can't complain because we're that much closer to spring!  The weather here in Maine has started to warm up a little.  The snow is almost gone and I'm dreaming of green grass and flowers.  It won't be too much longer!  In the meantime, here are my free April Mickey and Minnie printable calendars.

Hello March!  I can't believe you're already here!  This year is flying by... which is really no surprise to me since we've barely been home as much as we've been away.  I'm looking forward to spending some quality time getting projects done this month.  I'll also be spending some time helping my parents out with tax season.  Plus, I've got a few more adult education classes that I'm really looking forward to!  I think it's going to be a good month!  Here's my free printable calendars to get March off on the right foot!

February 2019 Calendar

Happy February!  January went by so fast for Eliot and me since we were away for most of the month!  Now, we're back in Maine and missing the Florida and California sunshine... but we've still got a lot of things to look forward to later this year!  Right now, we're gearing up for another month of cold and snow!  (Hopefully there won't be too much snow!)  In the meantime, here's my monthly calendar for February!

January 2019 Calendar

Happy New Year Everyone!!!  I can't believe it's already 2019!!!  I feel like we just started 2018.  As usual, we've been crazy busy.  I was barely able to complete my 2018 Year In Review, but thankfully I was able to do it.  I also sat down the other day and to write out both my personal and Disney goals for 2019.  I'll be sharing my Disney goals soon!  For now, here's my Mickey and Minnie calendars to kick off the new year!

December 2018 Calendar

Happy December!  This is my absolute favorite time of the year.  I love the holiday season.  It always goes by so fast since we're so busy, but I love it.  Christmas carols, twinkling lights, softly falling snow, Christmas shopping, decorations, yummy food... it's magical.  I'm sure it'll fly by quickly this year too... we're leaving on our cruise in a few days, Hanukkah will be here, we'll be at Walt Disney World for a few days, then it'll be time to finish up orders before Christmas!  Then, we'll be with my family for Christmas and we'll get a little break from orders before we head to Colorado for New Years!  I hope you take time to enjoy the season in between all of the hustle and bustle.  Here are my Mickey and Minnie calendars to keep you organized!

October 2018 Calendar

Happy October!  It's fall y'all... and I love it!  Fall has always been a favorite of mine.  I love all of the seasons, but there's something special about the fall.  The days are still warm, but not too hot.  The nights are crisp... perfect for a warm sweater.  Pumpkin Spice everything, beautiful fall leaves, football, and October means that hockey is FINALLY coming back!!!  I can't wait to watch our beloved Sharks in a few days!!!  To celebrate, here are my Mickey and Minnie calendars for October!

September 2018 Calendar

Happy September!  This is always a special month for Eliot and me.  We got married in September of 2012, and then we bought our house in September of 2015!  It's hard to believe we've almost been married for 6 years and that we bought our house three years ago!  To celebrate, here are my Mickey and Minnie calendars!
