Our 14th Wedding Anniversary

Today is our 14th Wedding Anniversary!!!  I can't believe that it's already been fourteen years since our dream come true, fairy tale Disney wedding. 💕🏰✨ 

In the 14 years since our wedding, Eliot and I have never really done anything major to celebrate our anniversary.  The first year, we went to a Red Sox game with my parents and Jeremy.  In 2021, we were in Virginia Beach with my parents, Nana and Jeremy, but we didn't do much on our actual anniversary since that was the day Eliot flew in.  There was the pandemic year that we went to IHOP and ate breakfast take-out in our car.  And I know that we've gone out for ice cream a few times.

More recently, it feels like Eliot and I have been working on the "in sickness and health" part of our vows.  I remember that one year Eliot was puking his guts out and we had to skip the Portland Sea Dogs playoff game that we had tickets for.  The following year, I was puking my guts out and we both had COVID.  Then last year, I was busy preparing for my endometriosis excision surgery two days later... so we didn't do much. 

Don't get me wrong, we've still celebrated in our own way, but it feels like we have earned an anniversary vacation for just the two of us.  So this year, we finally took one.

Today, Eliot and I celebrating our special wedding anniversary day at Disney’s private island- Castaway Cay!!! 🏝🛳 I am so excited to lay on the relaxing beach at Serenity Bay, drink adult beverages from pineapple glasses and feel the warm waves wash over me while fish swim around my feet... all with my favorite person right by my side!
