Fun Find: Magical Quarantine Memes (Part 7)

Happy Friday Everyone!!!  It's that time again... time for another round of Magical Quarantine Memes!  Here's the quick backstory about this series: I've seen a lot of funny memes on Facebook while scrolling through my newsfeed.  These past few weeks have been rough, so I started to save the memes that made me laugh.  Then, I decided to share them on here to bring a bit of joy to everyone.

This week, I've gathered all of the more adult memes I've seen.  Some of them are a bit intense and have swear words.  These ones aren't meant for kids... 

I'm sure there are plenty of parents feeling this one right about now... 

We're into the third month of this... it's time for a new hobby!

Eliot and I haven't watched any Tiger King, but it seems to be pretty popular.

It's amazing to me how many Disney fans didn't already know this before COVID-19.

The quarantine police are out in full force the past few weeks.

At this point, this is too accurate.  I'm going to start singing this version.

I've saved another favorite for last; not surprisingly, it's a song!!!  Hakuna mo' vokda!!!

Port Canaveral is Magical

Earlier today, I was pleasantly surprised by a rare bit of magic.  While mindlessly scrolling through my newsfeed on Facebook, one of my friends posted a photo that made me stop in my tracks.  It was a rare gift of magic indeed as the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and the Disney Magic were all together in port at Port Canaveral!!!

Disney Cruise ships are rarely seen together.  Because of their busy itineraries all over the world, the ships are not usually in the same locations at the same time.  Disney has their cruise ships scheduled to disembark/embark on different days from their shared Port Canaveral terminal.  Castaway Cay only accommodates one ship at a time.  I've heard reports of people seeing two of them at the same time in a destination port, but I've never heard of three Disney Cruise Line ships in one place together.

Port Canaveral has a webcam you can view online and you can watch all three ships live on there.  It's not crazy exciting as all three of them are out of commission from their scheduled itineraries.  However, I still find it relaxing to watch the scene.  As I've been watching, I've seen small boats passing through the frame.  Then, every once in a while, you'll see a bird fly by.  I've been popping on and off to watch all afternoon.  I keep hoping that I'll be really lucky and see a dolphin, but I haven't seen one yet!

If you watch the video with the sound on, you can hear something in the background that sounds like construction or some sort of machinery.  Port Canaveral has always struck me as a mix of hustle and bustle and complete relaxation.   On the one hand, it's a busy port with lots of construction and loading and unloading of guests and cargo on ships.  It also has retail shops, restaurants, charter boats and other businesses.  But on the other hand, it's where many people go to truly escape it all.

Even watching the live webcam brings back a lot of good memories.  I can see the bridge and ramp in the background behind the Fantasy.  I remember the three times I've been over that bridge and the feeling when you see your Disney ship for the first time.  I remember the excitement building when you pull into the terminal.  Then, going up the escalator and heading to check in.  Seeing the little ship model and enjoying looking at it while waiting for your turn to board the ship.  I remember walking across the gang plank and stepping onto the ship.  And I remember the pure excitement (and it bubbling over into uncontrollable glee) when the cast members announce your arrival and suddenly you're standing in the middle of the ship's beautiful atrium.  It's magical.

I've been on four cruises with Mickey (so far!) and they are the most relaxing thing I've ever experienced.  It's probably mostly because I've skipped out on the wifi service all four times and it's the only time Eliot, myself and my family have ever truly unplugged from everything.  It's a wonderful escape from the real world... plus it's with Disney.

All four times I've been on the Disney Dream for a three or four night voyage.  I've cruised with Mickey in fall of 2016, September of 2019, and back-to-back in December of 2019.  I have been lucky enough to celebrate Halloween on the High Seas twice, and loved both Very Merrytime Cruises we went on this past December.  The ships are magical to begin with, but celebrating the holidays on them takes it up to another level.

I've also been on Castaway Cay four times and it's the most amazing place.  Serenity Bay, the adult only beach on Castaway Cay, is what I picture when I'm in need of a relaxing moment.  I close my eyes and picture the white sand, beautiful turquoise blue waters, and the beach chairs.  Then, I imagine being surrounded by the warm water with little fish swimming at my feet while a soft breeze blows around me.  It's heaven.

While I'm very sad that we won't be able to experience any cruises with Mickey, or any days at Castaway Cay in the foreseeable future, I still dream of the day when we'll go on our next pixie dust sprinkled sea adventure!  What a beautiful day it will be when I arrive in Port Canaveral to board one of these magnificent ships for my next voyage!

Port Canaveral is the gateway to relaxation and fun.  It might just be a port to some people, but for me (and many other Disney Cruise fans) it's truly magical.  °o°

Cinco de Mayo

Today, I'm celebrating another holiday... one that I've actually never really celebrated before.  Not only is today Cinco de Mayo, but it also falls on Taco Tuesday!!!  And let's face it, with everything going on, I'm looking for any reason to celebrate something.

In the US, Cinco de Mayo is mostly known as a day we all eat Mexican food and enjoy margaritas.  (Not going to lie... before today I was among those who didn't know the true reason why it's actually celebrated.)  However, there is a meaning behind it and I decided to do a little bit of learning this afternoon!

In Spanish, Cinco de Mayo literally means the 5th of May.  (I did know that!)  Cinco de Mayo is celebrated to commemorate the day the Mexican army had their victory over the French in 1862 at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War.

Nowadays, the date has become a day to celebrate Mexican-American culture.  The holiday itself has become popular because of advertising from beer companies.  Plus, like I noted above, it's become a popular day for Americans to eat Mexican food.  Eliot and I both enjoy Mexican food (Gosh I really miss Chipotle!) and I've always been a fan of Taco Tuesday.  So when I found out that Cinco de Mayo and Taco Tuesday both collided this year, well... let's just say that was a done deal.

I really enjoyed making tacos for dinner.  It's not authentic Mexican food, but it's what my parents made us growing up and I love it.  I'm too lazy right now to make myself a margarita, but my Angry Orchard Rosé worked perfectly.

Plus, Eliot and I decided to make a special pair of ears for the occasion!  Tonight was the social media debut of our new margarita ears.  I'm obsessed with how adorable the little Mickey Mouse shaped lime is.  It's so cute!  They'll also be perfect for the Food and Wine Festival.  They'll be available in our Happily Ever Hatter shop in a few days!

It wasn't much, but I enjoyed my little Cinco de Mayo Taco Tuesday celebration!  Like I've said before, we all have to make our own magic when we can right now!!! °o°

Seven Year Blogiversary

Today is my 7 year blogiversary!!!  (It's hard to believe I've been doing this for 7 years!)

And for the first time in forever, I feel like I'm not totally ignoring my little blog.  I've been trying to make an extra effort with posting more regularly this year.  I'm so happy that I'm already at my 50th post as of today!  I'm only 14 posts away from having more than last year (63), and I've already surpassed both 2017 (43) and 2018 (18).

I've found that doing a series of themed posts has really helped me stay motivated.  I really enjoyed writing my Things to Do While Under Quarantine posts even though they were a ton of work and took forever to put together.  The #tbt posts are making it a lot easier to write about things pre-blog and other things that I never had time to write about.  I'm also working on starting some new segments of posts such as New Product Alerts (like yesterday's post), Small Business Saturday Features and more! 

I'm also hoping to make my blog experience more interactive.  It's hard to do that on my actual blog, but I'm trying to be more active on social media.  Keep your eyes peeled for some new things coming to that over the next few months.

Unfortunately, I still haven't able to complete my much needed blog face lift yet, but I've got a clearer direction of how to do that now.  For someone who is seven years into blogging, I still feel like a novice in a lot of things.  I'm hoping to learn more about the actual template and design of the blog so I can make it more personalized!

Finally, thank you to those of you who follow along and read all about Eliot's and my adventures.  I'm very grateful for you and I'm so glad to have you.  I never thought I'd even have a blog, so thank you for accompanying me on this journey!!!

New Product Alert: Epcot Spaceship Earth Desk Sets

Happy Spaceship Earth Sunday Everyone!  Today, I'm really excited to share some new products that we just released!  We're all spending a lot (aka pretty much all) of our time at home these days and that prompted Eliot and I to talk about how to add a little bit more magic to our everyday lives.  Eliot's been hard at work designing some new products for his Snowblade Creations shop.  He's had business card holders for a few months, but we've decided to expand on that line of products.

Over the past few weeks, Eliot's sent me rendering after rendering to get my opinion of his new designs.  After a little bit of tweaking, we've collaborated on two new desk sets... both featuring a Walt Disney World fan favorite- Epcot's Spaceship Earth.

The first completed set was a Mickey Spaceship Earth Desk Set.  I love how this set combines both the shape of Mickey and the Spaceship Earth texture.  The Mickey Spaceship Earth business card holder has already been very popular, so it only made sense to expand this product line.  Here's what we came up with:

Eliot also made a separate round Spaceship Earth desk set for people who didn't want everything on their desk set to have a Mickey shape.  Here's the round collection:

The best part is that some of these items are dual purpose.  You can also add some magic to your vanity if you use the pen holders for make up brushes instead!  Or, you could use the storage containers to store jewelry or other small trinkets.

Eliot and I are both really happy with how these desk sets turned out!  I love how it'll add a little bit of magic to both of our offices.  They're also perfect for adding some pixie dust to your home office or when you get back to your desk at work!

We've got more ideas for desk sets as well as ideas for a bunch of individual business card holder designs.  We're planning to roll these out in his Snowblade Creations shop over the next few months.  I'll be sure to let you know when they become available! °o°

Happy May!  We've survived another month!!!  I don't know about you, but for me April flew right by.  I don't know if it's that I'm just getting used to this, or if it's because I've avoided the news like the plague... because it's basically only about the COVID-19 plague.  Anyways, today, I'm back with more of my Magical Quarantine Memes!  Quick backstory: I've seen a lot of funny memes on Facebook while scrolling through my newsfeed.  These past few weeks have been rough, so I started to save the memes that made me laugh.  Then, I decided to share them to bring a bit of joy to everyone.
