Happy Haunted Mansion Monday and Happy 52nd Birthday to the Haunted Mansion!!!
I thought it was the perfect day to do a spooky edition of my Magical Merchandise Monday, so today I'm sharing the Department 56 Haunted Mansion Village Set.

As I've mentioned before, the Haunted Mansion is my favorite Disney attraction. Eliot and I always try to make it one of the first and last attractions that we ride on during our Disney trips. I've always loved the incredible level of detail inside of the mansion. For years, Eliot and I have also talked about making a mansion themed guest room.
Back in October of 2010, Eliot and I took our first solo trip to Walt Disney World. While we were there, we found a Halloween village piece of the Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion. I've collected villages for years, and I knew that I had to have this. We immediately bought it and had it sent home to our apartment outside of Boston.
A few months ago, Eliot and I were lying in bed randomly scrolling on Instagram when we found the Department 56 version of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion along with a figure of the hitchhiking ghosts. I immediately found out how to pre-order it and did.
After a few months, our pre-order from the small shop we ordered from arrived. (Eliot and I actually got it about a month ago!) A few weeks later, Department 56 released both pieces on their website. We could have ordered it from them, but I was glad that I had pre-ordred it and that I didn't have to stress about missing the release! (As of the date I posted this, both pieces will be back in stock again in the next few months.)

I absolutely love this set. It has amazing detail on it. I also love how now we have a figure of both the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland versions of the Haunted Mansion!!!
This is all very exciting to me! I'm hoping that they might expand upon the collection and make the Magic Kingdom version and more figures next year. There are so many iconic ghosts in the ride that they could make figures of. I'd love a little Madam Leota fortune table... or even her and Master Gracey's stones from the graveyard! They could make a little ghost horse hearse for outside. There are so many possibilities!

I really hope that Department 56 makes more pieces based off of the Disney Parks! I would love to have more theme park inspired village pieces in my collection!
If you love this Haunted Mansion Village set, "look alive" and order both these pieces sooner than later. Don't be a foolish mortal and wait or you might miss out. "If you do decide join us, make final arrangements now. We've been dying to have you!" °o°
