We're a few days into the new year and winter is well underway. When I think of winter in Maine, I first think of winter's snow and ice. I think of Nor'easter storms and of all the clean up. But I also think of being inside while fluffy snowflakes fall from the sky. I love the soft blanket of freshly fallen snow. It often feels like living in a snow globe.
I'm also reminded of the cold temperatures and of how much I love staying cozy and warm inside. I enjoy curling up on the couch under some warm blankets. I love to indulge in warm comfort foods- macaroni and cheese, potatoes and soups. Winter also means Valentine's Day, candy hearts, and love. Finally, winter in Maine also means that there are tons of outdoor and indoor winter activities you can do!
This isn't always the greatest time of year. Eliot and I are thrilled to have some time back after our crazy holiday rush. But, business is usually slow and it's easy to get bored. Thus, I've decided to do a bucket list filled with winter fun! Let's check it out!
Melissa's Winter 2022 Bucket List
- Drink a Special Winter Hot Cocoa
- Read a Winter Book
- Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries
- Bake Something
- Have a Game Night with Eliot
- Make a Winter Craft
- Go Ice Skating
- Make a Heart Shaped Pizza (February 9th National Pizza Day)
- Build a Snowman
- Make Waffles
- Celebrate Happily Ever Hatter's 8th Birthday
- Watch the Super Bowl
- Send Valentine's Day Cards
- Go Sledding
- Make a Valentine's Day Craft
- Read a Romance Novel
- Do A Puzzle
- Dress Up for National Polka Dot Day
- Paint on my Easel
- Make a Seasonal Wreath
I think this list will keep me really busy these next few winter months! Between this and working on our house while the businesses are more quiet, Eliot and I will probably be just as busy as ever! But I'm excited to see what we're able to accomplish! Winter is the best time to get stuff done in Maine! You're inside most of the time anyways!
As always, I'll be back in a few weeks to see how I did!!! °o°
