2022 Disney Goals

Welcome 2022... it's really nice to meet you!

It's the beginning of another year and I'm ready for a fresh start.  Another chance to make this the best year ever.  As part of that, I love making goals for myself.  It's something I look forward to each New Years Day; it's like a sacred tradition for me.

I'm not big into making resolutions.  Resolutions feel like promises to yourself that are meant to be broken.  Instead, each year I write out a list of goals- both personal ones and goals to post here on my blog.  My new list is usually pretty similar to the previous year, but each time I try to find things that will help me make my year a magical one.

(Read my past Disney goal posts at the following links: 2014 goals2014 recap2015 goals2015 recap, 2016 goals, 2016 recap2017 goals2019 goals2019 recap2020 goals2020 recap, 2021 goals and 2021 recap.)

My 2022 goals are almost exactly like last year's and the year before.  I haven't really felt like I've been able to make headway on them, so I figure that I might as well keep working on them!  Plus, a lot of these goals are things that I'd love to do every year since I enjoy doing them!  So why not put them on this year's list as well?  Plus, I even added one more so I'd have 22 Goals for 2022!

So without further ado, let's do this 2022...

Melissa's Blog and Disney Goals for 2022

1.) Go to Walt Disney World for the 50th Anniversary- This is something that I'd really like to do this year.  Eliot and I weren't able to go last year on the actual 50th anniversary, so this year we'd like to go to celebrate our favorite place's big milestone during the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration!

2.) Get Two Puppies- This is also a big goal for this year!  I want my puppies!

3.) Work on My Scrapbooks- I'm hoping to make a dent in this.  I'm not really picky with whether it's Disney scrapbooking or Sharks games or what it is.  I'd just like to get back into paper scrapbooking again!

4.) Decorate the House for the Holidays- This might not be the all out decoration fest that I'd like if we're able to get the puppies.  But I'd like to put in some effort!

5.) Celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary- Eliot's and my 10th anniversary is coming up in September and I'd like to do something special for it!

6.) Make Disney Home Decor for the House- I'm hoping to get more of the house finished so I can start putting up some homemade decor!

7.) Use My New Disney Planners and Journals- I'm trying this again this year!  I've got some stuff ready so I can start with a bang!

8.) Make Disney Decor for the Holidays- I'm also hoping to make some handmade decorations for the holidays!  They make them so much more special!

9.) Make Disney Accessories- I love accessories and I have big plans for this year!

10.) Have Disney Movie Nights- In my mind, this was going to be something that I did with Eliot.  However, since he doesn't come home from work at a time when we'd be able to do this, I'm going to make it a personal goal for myself.

11.) Have Disney Board Game Nights- I want to get our board games out this year!

12.) Disneybound/Themed Outfit Challenge- I'm planning to complete my outfit challenge this year.  Even if I'm not leaving the house often, I'm still going to plan outfits to wear themed to characters, attractions or holidays!

13.) Have a Disney Themed Party- I'm hoping we can finally have people over to our house later this year!  Hopefully COVID will allow it!

14.) Take an Online Class- I have a few different classes in mind for this year!

15.) Design an Imagineering Project- I've got a few new ideas for design projects!

16.) Read Disney Books- I need to make time for this.  I love reading!

17.) Paint Disney Art- I also need to make time to paint.  It's fun and relaxing for me!

18.) Decorate House with Disney Touches- As our house gets finished, I want to take some of our Disney stuff out of storage so we can enjoy it!

19.) Launch My Clothing Line- This is a big goal for this year!

20.) Launch Our Home Decor Business- This is another lofty goal for Eliot and me!

21.) Create New Products for Happily Ever Hatter- I have supplies for a few new ideas.  Hopefully, I can make some samples and get them added to the shop soon!

22.)  Be More Creative in the Kitchen- I'd like to start experimenting with some new food ideas... as well as start making sweets and treats!  I'm sure it will be yummy!

As always, I've got my work cut out for me with all of these goals.  I love to spread my creative wings though, so really this goal list just feels like I'm a little kid taking my pick of things to do at a playground.  I'm really excited about all of them!

Since I started to publish these Disney goals for on my blog, I've also started to make a word of the year to go along with those goals.  In the past, my words have been create, growth, blossom, dream, imagination, conquer, positivity and purpose.

I've decided to make my 2022 Word of the Year: BALANCE.  For years, I have been trying to find balance between running our businesses and having a personal life.  It's been a difficult task that I still haven't quite mastered.  I've also come to the conclusion that I need to make time for myself and time to be creative in order for me to truly be happy and fulfilled.  This year, I'm going to try to find a way to balance everything!

Here's to another year filled with possibilities.  Another 365 days to make 2022 a year to remember.  And I'm up to the challenge of making 2022 a magical one!!!  °o°
