At Last I See The Light

Hello July.  Hello sunshine.  Hello summer.  Hello freedom!!!  Today feels like a bright new beginning... after so many months locked away in my tower, at last I see the light.

I'm going into July feeling more optimistic with extra pep in my step.  The month of July has so many wonderful things to look forward to.  I'm so excited for summer, sunshine, swimming, pools, beaches, s'mores, BBQs, lobster, ice cream, watermelon, picnics, 4th of July festivities and everything that summer means to me.

This is also the first month that Eliot and I are fully vaccinated.  After months of staying home, wearing face masks, taking precautions and using more hand sanitizer than I have in my entire life, we now have another type of freedom.  It's so nice to go into stores without wearing face masks.  We were more than happy to wear them to keep ourselves and others safe, but I'm glad that we don't have to do it anymore... especially in this heat!  I also can't wait to give my friends and family hugs!  The relief we have all gained from getting the COVID vaccine is definitely something worth celebrating!

When I think of July, the first thing I think of is the 4th of July.  Growing up, it was the main event of the entire summer.  Bar Harbor's 4th of July celebration is one of the best in the entire country, and I was blessed enough that it was my hometown.  In fact, I almost broke down in tears when I found out Bar Harbor is having their 4th of July celebrations as usual this year.  (I finally gathered enough courage to check their website back in early June after we got vaccinated.)  I am so excited to be going home for it.  Last year, I was really bummed out when we missed it.  I can't wait!

I hope that this July will be full of wonderful memories and special moments that I'll cherish.  After last year, today feels like the beginning of something wonderful.  °o°
