Independence Day 2021

Happy 4th of July to my fellow Americans!!!

Today feels like all is right with the world.  This year, I am back home in Bar Harbor celebrating Independence Day the way I was meant to be and it's a glorious thing!!!

After last year, I was so excited for today that I knew we had to go all out.  I always dress up in something special, but this year, I wanted it to be over the top.  Since the 4th fell on a Sunday this year, both Jeremy and Eliot have the entire weekend and they don't go back to work until Tuesday!  This is the first July 4th in a while that we've all been home for.  (I don't think Jeremy has been home for it since 2016 or 2017.)

Thus... I had to get us all matching shirts.  The matching pjs were so much fun on our Disney Christmas Cruise that I'm making it a 4th of July thing now too.  Eliot and I usually wear coordinating shirts together, but this year we're taking it up a level.

I usually find Eliot's and my matching Disney Americana shirts from Shop Disney or Kohl's.  This year, I found some fun Mickey and Minnie shirts that reminded me of our Christmas PJs.  (They were gray and they had Mickey and Minnie in tie dye outfits!)  I bought shirts for the entire family.  Unfortunately, Kohl's cancelled all of the men's shirts a few days later, so I had to pivot and pick another design.

Our new patriotic Disney shirts are also from Kohl's.  These are red (for the women) and blue (for the men) and they all have a Mickey head with an American flag pattern inside.  They aren't quite as fun as the other ones I found, but they still work!

I'm really excited about our matching shirts... but I'm also excited for the parade, and the fireworks, and being in town for the 4th, and going to the Epi for lunch, and sitting in the park enjoying the view of the pier and the waterfront, and enjoying the weekend back home!!!  After last year's celebrations being cancelled, this is all that I wanted!

Hopefully it will be a wonderful day with lots of memory making!!!  I hope you enjoy your Independence Day celebrations too!  Have fun, be safe, and let freedom ring!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!  °o°
