Magical Merchandise: Department 56 Pumpkintown

This is Halloween.  This is Halloween... I think it's time for a Holiday Switch-Up!

Ok, I know... Christmas in July was literally just yesterday and I've been all about the holidays and Christmas stuff the past few days.  But there's another big holiday coming up in a few months, and that means that the spooky merchandise is coming!!!

But before I dive into today's merchandise find, I need to share a bit of a backstory...

One of my favorite decorations growing up was always Nana's Christmas village.  My family bought it for her years ago when Ames was still open here in Maine.  Each year, we'd buy her a few new buildings, some people and other smaller pieces.  When Ames closed, we started to buy pieces from Sears.  At this point, Nana has quite a collection.

Thus, I've always had a fascination with villages.  In fact, my favorite part of going to the Yankee Candle Village is checking out the Disney, Peanuts and Harry Potter villages in the room with all of them displayed.  A few years ago, Eliot even bought me the Frozen Elsa's Ice Palace when we were visiting Yankee Candle with his sister.

Each year, Department 56 comes out with new designs.  But what I really love is how Department 56 keeps coming up with new themes for their villages.  (The Harry Potter village collection was a recent addition.)  They have coastal, victorian, Grinch, Crayola and there's even a new design for Game of Thrones.  There something for everyone!  I have always wanted to have some villages for our house, and I love all of the options.

This past week, Department 56 released some of their items for 2021.  They are well known for their Christmas villages, but they are also expanding their Halloween items and offerings as they debuted a new set: Disney's Pumpkintown Halloween Village!

I've been waiting a few months for this set to be released on their website.  We missed the pre-order period for a few of the small retailers that sell Department 56.  I'm so excited to finally be able to order it!  We don't have any village pieces for Halloween!

Disney's Pumpkintown Halloween Village comes with a few different pieces.  There's a mouse ear shaped pumpkin house for both Mickey and Minnie.  Then, there are cute little Mickey pumpkin lampposts.  There are also Mickey and Minnie pumpkin topiaries.

My favorite piece is the Mickey jack o'lantern for the town center.  (It reminds me of the giant Mickey pumpkin display on Main Street at Disneyland!)  Finally, there are figures of Mickey and Minnie and another of Donald and Pluto!  They're really cute!

This village set is sure to put a smile on your face!  I absolutely love it and all of the little details.  I'm so excited to add Disney's Pumpkintown Halloween Village to our collection.  It will be a treasured piece that I'll look forward to taking out each year.  °o°

  1. These Pumpkin town Villages look adorable. I highly recommend you check out Enchanted Mysteries , a Facebook Group. It is run by Karen Treacey, a delightful woman who lives in England. She offers different "mystery" boxes;Disney, Harry Potter and British Goodies. she goes over to Disneyland Paris and offers boxes of goodies from there...she has new ones coming out for sale on August 1st and has a Halloween Box and a Christmas Box. She features some YouTube videos of Disney lovers opening their boxes so you can get an idea of the things she puts in her boxes..It is so much FUN!!
