Today is Live Creative Day! I actually discovered this "holiday" when I was preparing our social media calendar for Happily Ever Hatter. I've been terrible at keeping up with posting on our business Instagram and Facebook pages lately... but because I have a social media plan, I've discovered all sorts of random days of the year to celebrate!
As you probably already know, my creativity is one of the things that I cherish most about myself. I consider myself a Magic Maker as one of my job titles... and I'm very proud of that fact. It took me some time to adjust to working for myself, but after some ups and downs, I've come to fully embrace it and I no longer care about what "the haters" think about me and my job. I love how my full time job is to bring a little bit of magic and joy to someone else's day. And I'm so proud and fulfilled doing it.
The truth is that I can't stop the creativity even if I wanted to. I lay awake some nights and the ideas just won't stop. Sometimes, I have to give into it; then I spend hours laying in bed researching on my phone and making lists. More lists... so many lists.
I can't tell you how many projects and crafts that I've worked on through the years. I've been making things and creating as far back as I can remember. I'm always hungry for more, to learn new methods, to make new things. I want to make decor and artwork for our house. I want to make clothing, accessories and jewelry for me to wear. I want to make our puppies (that we don't even have yet) outfits. And if we have children, I want to make them costumes. Not to mention, Eliot and I have so many ideas for our businesses, for new products, collections and even completely new businesses!
I'm so grateful for all of these ideas... and for all of the lists of ideas that I have.
Normally, I'd take some time today to work on something creative for myself, but with our vacation coming up in a few days, I'm hard at work completing orders and cleaning the house. But, I did want to pop in over here for a few minutes to acknowledge the day and to express my gratitude for the gifts that I have been given.
