Charting a Course

Hello April and Happy April 1st!  I can't believe that one quarter of 2022 has already flown by!  March is usually a slow month for us, but this year we went through it at warp speed!  As I've mentioned, April is also shaping up to be busy for Eliot and me.

I started working back at the chiropractic office yesterday.  I got a more clear idea of the schedule and what my duties will entail.  It looks like I'll be working seven days, including yesterday and today, in the month of April.  Thankfully, my replacement is still coming in once a week during hours when the office isn't open, so I'm not going to have to do a lot of the more labor intensive things that I've forgotten how to do.  The schedule isn't crazy, but it will take time away from our businesses.  Eliot and I will have to stay on top of things to make sure everything gets done on time!

Right now, Eliot and I are still ahead on most orders, but we've got a few that have crept up on us.  We're ahead on desk accessories, and I'm hoping we can keep up at that pace.  We have a whole pile of ear bases that have been printed that need to be finished and attached to headbands.  I see a busy weekend in our future!

Speaking of this weekend, we're also going to be juggling some projects around the house.  We're in spring cleaning mode, but our first focus is going to be on my closet repairs.  Eliot and I wanted to do it during the week, but we've been so busy that it had to wait until this weekend.  Hopefully we can get that done tomorrow so I can start putting my closet back together Sunday!  I want to organzine everything that's still in there before hanging my clothes back on the rod, so I'm sure it will take a few days to get it all organized and settled.  I'll be so happy when it's done though!

Once I finish my closet organization and re-arranging, I'm hoping to shift some of my focus to our master bathroom.  I organized a bunch of the decor for it, and I'm hoping to get that into place soon!  Eliot and I need to move everything into it and start using our master bathroom shower so I can start finishing the guest bathroom.

Speaking of the guest bathroom, after about two years of debating, I've finally settled on a paint color for it.  I've had a bunch of different ideas since we moved in over five years ago, but I've been pretty set on this latest color for a while.  I'm actually going to have them color match one of Eliot's raincoats.  I love that pretty shade of blue!

Eliot and I still have a bunch of projects that we're working on around the house.  We're waiting to receive our income tax refund so we can use a little bit of that money to pay for a few more things for the house!  Hopefully we can get some of those projects done so I can share them with you in the coming months!  And speaking of blogging...

I've got a bunch of blog posts planned for this month, but I'm not sure how it will all pan out.  I'm just playing it by ear right now.  If I have time to write, great... but if not, I'm not going to stress out about it.  At least, I'm going to try not to!  I've looked ahead at my blog calendar for May, and it's really empty so far.  I'm going to try my best to write a lot in April.  By May, I'll probably be re-focusing my energy into working on the house and getting our other business projects underway... so I probably won't be writing as much!

In regards to our everyday personal lives, things have been going pretty well.  Eliot's been in a bit of a rut as of late, but he's really enjoying his new virtual reality thing.  His Dad has an Oculus that he let Eliot play with while we were in California.  Eliot really liked it so he got one as well.  He's been doing a lot of working out with it.  His favorite game is Beat Saber... it's like a virtual reality light saber game where you have to slash blocks that are flying at you.  He's gotten a lot of good workouts in over the past few weeks and he's played a few games with his father.  That's cheered him up a bit!

As for me, I've been checking things off of my to do list like crazy, and being productive always makes me feel good.  I've had a little bit of a bump with my mental health the past few days, but overall I've been doing well.  I think that I'm a bit stressed out over juggling working again and trying to keep everything balanced, but I also know that it's only temporary.  I am happy to help out, and I remind myself that it's only for a few weeks.  Plus, I am very excited to get re-focused in May when I can (hopefully) finally move ahead with some of my new business ideas!  So I have that to look forward to!

That's pretty much our charted course for April.  It's going to be a busy one and I'm sure it'll be a bit stressful at times, but we'll manage.  I am looking forward to visiting my family for a few days, even if it's mostly to help out at the end of tax season.  Plus, I'm sure that Eliot and I will find ways to enjoy smaller pockets of time.  Maybe we'll even catch another Maine Mariners game.  And we always have the San Jose Sharks games and new Hallmark movies to look forward to!

As always, thanks for coming along for the ride with us!  This month is going to be a busy one, but hopefully I'll have some exciting things to report too!  °o°
