The Crash...

Whew!!!  This has been a week... one that felt like a month instead of seven days.

Eliot and I were insanely busy at the end of last week.  There were two back-to-back days where I went to work and then we went straight to the Maine Mariners hockey games.  Then, we returned home only to watch the San Jose Sharks last two games of their season.  Working really long shifts and then watching two hockey games late into the night two days in a row is exhausting.  No regrets because those ended up being the Mariners last two home games this season, but I was dead tired afterwards.

Saturday, Eliot and I went to the Lego Fan Fest with my family.  Then, we went again for a few more hours on Sunday.  I want to write more about the experience, but that will have to wait a few more days.  We had a great time though!

Eliot actually took last Monday and Tuesday off from work to use a few of his vacation days.  We had planned to get stuff done.  I guess we did get a little bit of cleaning and business stuff done, but we mostly completely crashed.  I won't lie, I spent most of the day on the couch and he sat in the chair and a half.  Mindlessly watching Quantico on Netflix was about all I had the brain capacity for.  I haven't been this tired in forever.

Wednesday, I had to catch up on everything that I was behind in.  That meant I spent a good part of my 9th blogiversary writing, editing and adding links and pictures to seven blog posts.  I also had a few business things I wanted to do before my last two days at the office.  Wednesday was a complete blur, but I got a lot done.

Thursday was a long day at the office.  I worked from 11:30-7:00 pm and I was pretty much going straight.  I only had two more days to impart as much knowledge as I could to the new office manager... and I came home feeling fried.  After a short break, I spent another hour at home doing stuff for the office at home on my laptop.  Eliot also worked late that night and didn't get home until almost 1 am.  It was a reallllly long day.

Yesterday, I worked my last scheduled shift at the chiropractic office.  It was an exciting day for me... but also a little bit sad.  I'll definitely miss working with the doctors and the patients.  But it's an exciting time too!  My replacement's replacement is officially taking over next week!  She's excited but nervous.  I know she'll be fine though.  There's a huge learning curve, but if both of us could do it, I'm sure she can too.

I know she's also nervous that I won't be there.  She also said that I made the day fun so that made me feel really good.  Like I mentioned the other day, I know that I'm good at my job, and that's a great feeling.  But working from home creating things is where my heart lies.  Everyone there understands that, and as much as they'd love for me to stick around, they know this is what I really want for my life.

However, they can't get rid of me that easily!  I will be going back in at some point to show her some of the templates I made back when I was office manger.  We didn't get a chance to go over it while we were in training, so I'm going to go back in a week and a half or so.  I told them I needed next week off to get myself back on track with our own businesses.  I know that I'm not doing her any favors in not letting her fly on her own.  Plus, I'm exhausted.  Completely, 100% exhausted; I'm not afraid to admit it.

Thus, I'm planning to spend this weekend taking care of myself and figuring out what Eliot and I need to focus on this upcoming week.  I need to make a plan for all of my house projects to complete before it gets too hot inside the house.  I also need to start thinking about some of my new business plans and new products.  And I'd really love to sneak up to Michael's and Joann Fabrics one of these days next week...

This upcoming week will probably be a quiet one around here... just know that I'm resting up, refocusing and making plans for my next moves!  I'll be back soon!!!  °o°
