I've got some fun news to share tonight! Last night, Eliot and I bought our tickets for the Backstreet Boys: DNA World Tour show that's exactly five weeks from today!

I've been a fan of the Backstreet Boys since middle school. I have very vivid memories of my cousin Kaitlin and I as pre-teens and teenagers singing their songs at the top of our lungs and having many discussions on which one we'd marry. There may or may not be a video of us that exists where we're dancing around like idiots and declaring our never ending love for BSB. (MTV... can you do me a solid and lose that footage?)
When I entered my sophomore year of high school, I met my best friend Katie, who was a grade behind me, and she was also a huge Backstreet Boys fan. She and I always swore that if we could go to a concert together someday, we would.
I believe it was my sophomore year of college when that dream came true. Katie and I drove down to Portland, ME the night before I was supposed to be returning to Boston and Wentworth's campus and we went to our first Backstreet Boys concert.
Since then, the Backstreet Boys have toured a few times and things haven't lined up with our schedules. So when I found out that they're coming to Bangor, Maine this summer on July 21st, I knew that we all had to go together.
Tickets went on sale back in April, and Eliot and I held off on buying ours because we wanted to use our tax refund. Last week, we finally got our federal return. Eliot called me last night from work all in a state, saying that I had to drop everything and go purchase the tickets. I guess he had randomly checked them online while taking a short break, and ticket prices had dropped pretty dramatically since we last saw them.
Now, Eliot, my cousin Kaitlin and I have got tickets in the center of the venue, only 11 rows (plus the pit area) from the stage! And, we were able to get the tickets for the price that we all agreed upon. I can't believe our good luck. We had originally been looking at tickets in the back center section because that's what we were going to get at that price point. But because we held off, now we've got amazing tickets! (We have the three seats next to the single seat and under the red blob circled in green below.)
I'm so excited to see the Backstreet Boys in concert beside my cousin and Eliot. (Yes, Eliot enjoys their music too so I wasn't going to let him miss out.) My best friend Katie will be at the concert too, but she'll be sitting in one of the back sections with another friend who bought their tickets when they were first released. We're hopeful that we can all go out to dinner beforehand, but we haven't made any final plans for that yet.
No matter what, I'm really excited to experience this concert with my husband, my closest cousin and my best friend. I'm sure it will be a night that we'll all remember!
Everybody.... Backstreet's Back Alright! °o°
