Happy Wednesday! Even though it will be a lot less spectacular than Eliot and I had originally planned, I'm still counting down to celebrating our 10th anniversary next month. Thus, I thought it was time for another Wedding Wednesday post! Today, I'm sharing some of the preparations we made for my Bridal Shower!
My Mom and my best friend Katie threw my Bridal Shower at my parents' house in August before our Disney Wedding in September. The party was really important to me because some of the people who were coming to my Bridal Shower weren't able to make it down to Florida to celebrate our wedding in person... so this was a nice way to celebrate with everyone back home in Maine before our big day!
Leading up to the event at the end of August, Mom, Katie and I were pretty busy gathering supplies and making sure that everything was ready to go. I had decided that I wanted to do an ice cream and cupcake themed party. I wanted something fun, colorful and "sweet"... and I think we definitely succeeded!
Katie handmade the invitations and she used pink and lime elements to match Eliot's and my wedding colors. The cards were hand stamped and embossed.
A lot of the ideas we had for the shower were picked up on Pinterest. Katie and I had a shared board for Ice Cream and Cupcake party ideas. (I still visit it occasionally!)
Katie and I also had to prepare the games. She took the lead on planning the others, but my job was to make a questionnaire of questions and answers about Eliot and me.
In the months before the shower, I searched high and low for ice cream stuff. I found a lot of the stuff we used for my party on sale at Joann Fabrics in their summer section.
I also got bitten by the design bug and I designed the thank you notes I used on my computer. I did a lot of design stuff behind the scenes for our wedding to personalize it. I was so proud of these thank you notes... especially with how cute the Mickey Sundae turned out! The sundae was on the front and the "thank you for coming" note was on the back of the card. Then, the little cupcake with the Thank You sign was on the inside where I hand wrote the cards. Aren't they cute?!?!?
Finally, a few months before my shower, I found the perfect dress at JCPenney! I had wanted something white, and I loved how this dress also had bright flowers on it! I thought it was great for the summer and for a bridal shower!
It was a lot of work, but my bridal shower came together and was so perfect!!! °o°
