Woo!!! The day Eliot and I have been waiting months for is finally here!!!
Today, we will watch as the San Jose Sharks retire the first jersey number in their history. We're so excited to see Patrick Marleau's #12 be lifted to the rafters!
It's no secret that this has been a pretty lackluster year for the Sharks. Our home record is atrocious and it's been getting harder and harder for us to see how empty the Shark Tank is when we tune into games. The retirement ceremony before the game tonight has been something that we've been looking forward to since the start of this season. We knew that people would come out to see Patty's number retired!

The Sharks have made this into a huge celebration. They are having a "Patty Fest" outdoor block party before the doors open. They usually do these before playoff games and a few regular season games. However, today's event will also have another "Teal Carpet" like the one we went to in October. But instead of having current Sharks players walk the carpet, Sharks alumni will be the ones walking the carpet!

All of Sharks Territory is buzzing about the celebration. Between last night's Legends Game, and the Patrick Marleau Jersey Retirement today, it's given the Sharks fans something to be excited about. Everyone loves Patrick Marleau. The Sharks even released this video of some fans thanking Patty for all of the wonderful memories.
As you can see, Patty means so much to us. There's probably not going to be a dry eye in the house. This video already has me in tears. He really has been a big part of the Sharks fans lives, even if we're a small part of his. I'm truly honored to be there in person to celebrate this huge milestone in Sharks history today.
Congratulations Patty on all of your success and for your jersey retirement! °o°
