Magical Merchandise: Disney Possible Dreams

My wallet is saying "ruh-roh" because I have a new obsession and of course it's Disney holiday merchandise.  It's probably my biggest weakness... and boy are these perfect!

I've already shared my love for Department 56 and their villages with you.  (Read more about Mickey's Pumpkintown and Haunted Mansion at those links.)  I didn't realize that they also made small figurines as part of their Possible Dreams collection.  Earlier this year, I discovered them on the website and my new obsession was born.

However, that actually wasn't the first time I saw this magical figurines.  Back in 2019, when Eliot and I were with his family for our Thanksgiving trip, we spotted a few of these cute little figures.  We love going to the Disney art stores, and I found these displays while we were exploring Epcot.  At the time, I didn't know what they were or who made them, but I was immediately drawn to them.

My family has a Coca Cola Santa that was a favorite of mine when I was a kid.  My Dad loves Coca Cola stuff and he's always loved their Christmas merchandise.  When we were kids, we found an animatronic Santa (I think from Sears) that came with a little cardboard fireplace.  We loved setting up that display each Christmas.  So when I saw the little figures of Santa, Mickey, Minnie and the fireplace, I was immediately brought back to those memories.  Unfortunately, I didn't go back to purchase them.

Earlier this year, I happened upon more of these figures while I was exploring the Department 56 website.  I never realized they were who made them, or that they made so many of them!  I started to do a bit more research, and I discovered that there were a whole bunch of them that have been made and are already retired.

There are so many different designs.  A lot of them include Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Santa.  But I have seen a figure with Donald and Daisy.

One of my favorite parts of these adorable little figures are the small details.  If you look closely, there are cute little Disney touches that add extra magic.

I love finding Mickey ribbons and gift wrap on the presents.  It's like an at home hidden Mickey hunt!  And if you read Santa's lists, they include some familiar names on them!

Aren't these adorable?!?!  I absolutely love them and I can't wait to add some to our Christmas decor collection.  I've got a few of these on my Christmas Wish List, so hopefully Santa will leave a few of them under our Christmas tree!  °o°
