Today, Walt Disney World turns fifty and the 50th Anniversary Celebration begins!

I have anticipated this day for years. In every scenario, I pictured us there, soaking in the magic in person. Eliot and I both wholeheartedly wanted to be there to celebrate this milestone at the parks. But after the coronavirus pandemic and us making a few big money decisions earlier this year, it just didn't make sense to stick to that plan.

While I'm disappointed to be celebrating from so far away, I'm also a little relieved. It's probably a madhouse there today. I'm sure the Magic Kingdom is completely packed with travel agents, bloggers and Youtubers trying to capture all of the merchandise, food and new celebrations. Plus, Epcot is going to be packed with the debut of Remi's Ratatouille Adventure in the France Pavilion. This week wouldn't be the 'welcome back after almost two years' experience that I'd want it to be. And that's ok.

Instead, I'm sending a huge hug to my favorite place. I'm definitely there in spirit!
I'm sure that Eliot and I will be devouring all of those new videos online later today. I really can't wait to see the merchandise and goodies that will be available during the 18 month long Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebration!

Plus, there are so many things to look forward to! I can't wait to see the decorations, Cinderella Castle with her new paint job, and the beacons of light at night! I hope that I'll be able to take pictures with Mickey and Minnie in their new outfits at some point!
