It's National Felt Hat Day!!!
I'm still recovering from the complete and utter exhaustion of our trip to California. But I couldn't let the day pass without popping in quickly to write about my mouse ear hats.
I feel so much pride whenever I look at photos of my creations. It's been a few years since I last made one, but it feels like it was yesterday. Sometimes, I have to pinch myself to believe that I actually made them with my own two hands.
I think I've mentioned that I have been thinking about picking it back up and making a few more. I don't think I'll ever sell them again since I have my sights set on new things, but I'd like to make more for Eliot's and my personal collection. I've always had a fascination with costuming, and this is a fun creative way to put my own spin on them. Plus, they'll look great in our display cases. All I can think about it how visually satisfying it will be to see some Mickey and Minnie Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary mouse ear hats next to the ones that I created for Disneyland's 60th Anniversary.
Felt Mickey Mouse ear hats, you were the start of something new and wonderful. And I will always be grateful for all of the doors you opened for me.
Happy National Felt Hat Day!!! °o°
