Leaving for CA Tomorrow

How is is possible that we leave for California tomorrow?!?  I feel like I just told you guys that we were going to the D23 Expo this year... and now we're leaving for it!

The past few weeks have been a complete whirlwind.  Eliot and I have been working overtime to get orders finished.  First, we got behind because of having COVID.  Then, we were working overtime to get all of our orders done ahead of our trip.  So we have been working in double or triple time for the past few weeks.  Thankfully, Eliot and I have basically done everything that we're physically able to, and I'm happy with what we've been able to get completed and out in the mail for today.

Once Eliot and I get our trip to the post office out of the way, the rest of the day will be a blur of packing and other errands to finish before our trip.

First, I was supposed to be upgrading my cell phone at AT&T and that was our biggest plan of the day.  However, I've since decided to wait.  I hate having an iPhone 7 for another trip to Disney.  But Eliot has a brand new phone, Jeremy has an iPhone 12 and my Mom has an iPhone 12 mini.  There are plenty of people with better phone cameras who will most likely be with me, so I can have them take pictures for me if necessary.  The iPhone 14 is rumored to be coming out in a few weeks, so it doesn't make sense to get the iPhone 13 now when it will probably drop in price in a few days.

The other task on our list was for Mom and me to get our hair cut.  I set us both up for appointments at JCPenney's salon at 4 pm.  So that will be a great thing to get done!

We have also set aside time in case we need to do some last minute shopping. I think Eliot and I have already grabbed everything we'll need, but if we think of anything else, we have time to swing by Walmart to grab it!

Finally, the most important part of this afternoon is to visit Nana at her nursing home facility.  Mom wants to make sure that she's all settled in before we leave.  My parents dropped her off yesterday, so we have a little bit of time today to pick up anything that she might need before we travel down to New Hampshire.  Eliot and I also wanted to swing by for a few minutes to visit with her before we leave on our trip!  I'm glad she's only in Portland so we get a chance to see her!

After we have finished everything that we need to get done in Portland, Eliot and I will go back to our house to grab our bags and make sure that our house is all set.  Then, we will travel down to New Hampshire.  Mom, Dad, Eliot and I will check into our hotel, we'll get Jeremy's car set up at the park and ride bus stop and we'll get settled in for the night.  Then, we get up super early for our 2:45 or 3:15 am shuttle bus over to the airport for our 5:25 am flight from Manchester, NH to Chicago!

I'm sure it's going to be a busy day, but I'm so glad that Eliot and I will have a little bit of time to get our heads straight after we take our trip to the post office.  For the past few weeks, I've been so focused on getting orders done that packing has been put on the back-burner.  And I know my Mom has felt the same way with her and Dad's business.

Thankfully, Eliot and I will have all afternoon to make sure we have packed everything before we leave the house and officially start vacation!  Here's to an amazing trip!!!  °o°
